What is the difference between pressing Home and then shift end rater than j
and shift plus k? What is the difference between pressing delete and control
plus k?
What happens when multiple tracks selected but the selection is on a timeframe
where just ome track exists?

Track Mute and Solo
Each track has a mute setting which can be on or off, and a solo setting
which can also be on or off. These settings are used to control which tracks
contribute to playback, and in addition the mute settings, but not the solo

Solo
If one or more tracks have their solo setting on, then only these tracks
contribute to playback, regardless of the Mute settings of all of the tracks.
To toggle the Solo setting of the focussed track, press Shift + S.
There are a number of options for the solo setting and its interaction with
the mute setting:
•Simple, which is the default. when you turn on the Solo setting of a track,
then the mute and solo settings of the tracks are adjusted so that the mute
setting of the soloed track is off, and for all the remaining tracks, the
mute setting is on, and the solo setting is off. If you turn off the solo
setting of a track, then for all the remaining tracks, the mute setting is
turned off.
•Multi-track. The mute and solo settings are completely independent.
•None. There's no solo setting, just a mute setting.
The setting which has these options can be found by going to the Tracks
category of the Preferences dialog, where there is a Solo button combo box.

Enter will toggle selection on a track, and, I generally use home, followed
by shift + end to select from start to end of a highlighted track, but, the
main thing is if you toggle off selection on all other tracks, then effects
will only be applied to the tracks that have selection toggled on, but, yes,
playback will still play all tracks, to let you hear the overall output.

tracks playing at the same time and I make a selection I want to make
sure that I have selected only and only the part of the right track
before editing.
3- On another completely different area, is there a way either using
audacity or not to combine multiple sound cards into one audio stream
on Windows? Something similar to wat Audio Hijack does on Mac OS...
