Hi Bryan
I agree with Mark and Adrian that the right (for you) interface/mixer is
ultimately the way to do things. But to your original question regarding the
keyboard through a USB port.
I do not know the Casio. Does it come with a software driver? If so, and
possibly even if not, it may be that Audacity can find it. Try the following:
1. Connect the keyboard to the computer through a USB port;
2. With the keyboard turned on, open Audacity;
3. Go to the recording device (shift+i);
4. Arrow up and down to see if the Casio appears. If it appears, select
it.
Although I usually go through a mixer, I did exactly as described above
yesterday with my Yamaha MX61. One thing to be aware of is that you will not
hear what you are playing through Audacity while playing. One option is to
connect headphones to the keyboard. I do not know about the Casio, but with
the Yammy I can tell Audacity to make it the playback device (shift+o). That
may provide some convenience.

Subject: [audacity4blind] Slight delay
Hello folks.
I was wondering if there was a way to record my Casio keyboard through USB? I
know audacity doesn't support VST instruments, but I'm farely knew at using
audacity for my music productions. I've used it for years for my soundscapes,
but now I'd like to expand. Thanks in advance.
Bryan
