In more recent versions of Audacity, the keystroke for stopping playback and
setting the cursor to position where playback stopped has changed from
shift+A to the letter X.
You should still be able to use shift+j and shift+k.
If your keyboard hasn't got home and end keys, you should be able to use
function key + left arrow and function key + right arrow respectively.

I just put Windows on my Mac using Bootcamp. Everything is going

playback using shift+A and then select to the start (shift+J) or end
(shift+K) of the track, and then press Ctrl+T to trim. But now the Shift+A
thing doesn't seem to work anymore. I now see that you can select using
Shift+Home and Shift+End in the same way, except I don't have home or end
keys. I'm using NVDA, by the way, although I used JAWS with this before I
switched to Mac.
So my question is, do I have to somehow map key combinations in Bootcamp for
Home and End, or is there an alternate way to select something and then
delete the rest of the audio?
