Andrew:

Many thanks!  I set it up once myriad years ago, and sometimes when one gets
started, things come back--but not all the time.  I'll try to get the
drivers and give it a go.  (grin)  On this machine, as contrasted with the
one DJX is building for me, I'm just hoping to learn my way around, and go
through my brailled and bound docs, with a machine to experiment with.
(grin)

I'll let you know how it goes!

It is exciting to start getting my recording life back.

I would have said highly relevant rather than dumb.  I do not know Motu gear
at all, apart from the very quick skim through their site just now.  I
should think the short answer is yes.  An important consideration may be
that Audacity does not support ASIO.  More correctly, it can but it is more
complicated than my brain has space to set up.

To change the playback and/or recording card that Audacity uses:

1.      From the track view (the default view), press control-shift-f6 and
you should land on the Pause button.
2.      Shift-tab twice to get to the playback device combo box.
3.      Arrow up and down to select a different card.
4.      Shift-tab once to the mono/stereo combo box and use up/down arrows
to change if desired.
5.      Shift-tab once again to get to the recording device combo box.
6.      Arrow up and down to select a different card.
7.      Shift-tab once again to get to the audio host combo box and use
arrows to change if desired.
8.      Press control-f6 to return to the track panel.

Andrew:

Have been typing my arthritic fingers to the bone doing searches.  Found
that file, JAWS Scripts, and installed them, and another 11-page
"quick-start file.

Will be binding these after embossing finishes.  I prefer reading things
under my fingers than listening to manuals.

Probably dumb question, but can I get Audacity to see a MOTU 24io as my
audio interface?

Hi Nick

The good news is that all files are stored locally.  But there are 375 html
files in the man folder under the manual folder.   That is where most, but
not all, files are housed.

When you access Help from Audacity, the index.html file in the manual folder
is opened.  The links in that file take you to other files.

You may want to check out the Audacity guide for screen reader users
<http://vip.chowo.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/jaws/Audacity-2.3.2-Guide.html#tr
ack-table>  written by David Bailes.  It has the benefits of both being
written specifically for screen reader users and is a single html file.
David is on this List.

Glad y'all are here!  I'm looking forward to learning, and as an immigrant
from Sonar 6.x with CakeTalking on XP, to Audacity (current version) 64-bit
Win 10 Pro with current version of JAWS dread and look forward to the
learning process.

Might anyone know of a way to have the whole manual in one file for easier
brailling.  I have an aggregation of "html" files in the "help\manual"
folder, but they appear to be links to the online version of the manual.  Is
there a way to have a concatenated version of the docs in one file?

Many thanks!

Nick
