Thanks Steve and John
I guess I now have no choice other than to switch over to NVDA for the moment …
Not that it is a bad thing after all.

Hi Sameer,
Freedom Scientific is now fully aware of this problem, and they say they are
working on fixing it. It is definitely a problem with JAWS 18. The problem also
exists with the previous build. NVDA is going to be your best option for using
Audacity until the problem is fixed. It appears to be a problem with JAWS and
the Windows 10 Creators Edition.

Subject: [audacity4blind] STRANGE ISSUE WITH AUDACITY
Hi all
When I use jaws, Audacity crashes whilst importing a particular mp3 file.
However, when I use NVDA, the mp3 file imports seamlessly.
I’ve rebooted and restarted Audacity and repeated the process to no avail.
Can anyone explain this?
Just in case it’s relevant, I’m running Windows 10 64 bit together with Jaws 18.
Regards
Sameer
