Hi Chester,
concerning Audacity getting sluggish when you save a project.
There is a known bug that when you save a project for the first time, it
takes longer than it did in older versions of Audacity. I'm not sure
whether this is the bug which is affecting you. The work around for this
bug is to save an empty project before you start working on it. Then any
subsequent saves will not be slower than normal.
This bug is still present in Audacity 2.3.0.
If this isn't the bug which has been affecting you, and so the work around
doesn't help, then let me know which version of Audacity you are using, and
some rough idea of the length of you projects and the number of tracks,
David.
