Hi Andrew

I'll keep this message until I'm more experienced with Audacity.

Started my first project recording from the cassette player. Even after normalizing  the recording the volume was still too low. I at least am working on my first recording, smiles.

Hettie, I am inclined to agree with Ted.  Adding reverb is easy, taking it away is rather more challenging.  It may be worth trying with the graphic equaliser in the Effects Menu.  Especially without hearing the recording, the following is guesswork.  Boosting lower frequencies may mask the echo somewhat.  It may also produce a muddy sound and/or increase background noise ☹. Knocking out some mid frequencies could also be worth a shot.

Think of it as a learning experience and you may pleasantly surprise yourself.

Good luck with it.

Andrew
