Could you attach an excerpt of the recording?
It is hard to tell what to do without deeper knowledge. There are all
kinds of echoes that could end up in the recording. If you hear the
echo once and it is heavily delayed (300 ms or so) then the cause was
likely because someone was listening to the meeting over the speakers
(instead of headphones) and that spilt into the open microphone.

If it is most annoying in the pauses, I would suggest the noise gate.

Hi,
I am afraid is not too much possible to do with a recording with echo.
Actually, this is happening not because Zoom but  because people are talking
and recording in empty rooms or offices. In terms of rooms, it is much
better to talk in a furnished room and not in a nearly empty room or even
kitchens.
People needs to learn few tricks when is about recording in home
conditions.

A room with carpets, heavy curtons and sofas with are way better in terms of
absorbing the room's echo.

Subiect: [audacity4blind] Removing echo from a recording

Hi all

I received a mp3 recording from a zoom meeting. I was able to reduce the
base of the recording with Audacity but how do I remove, or reduce, the echo
in the recording.

Is there always an echo when people post a recording of a zoom meeting?

Hettie
