Yah, my experience has been similar to Ted’s. Try changing the audio host to
DirectSound and see what happens.

David

I have had something weird like that happened to me before but with only two
tracks rather than three. I can fix that problem by changing to direct sound
source and changing from stereo to mono. To make that track stereo again, I
double the track and then pan either of the two far left and far right with
shift p.

Morning Andrew,
Yeah it’s weird.
Shift +r adds the track but it seems to be blank after recording.
I have checked for muting etc.
I have tried it on another pc & it seems to be fine.
It’s just my pc in my recording studio that has the prob.
I might rung ver 2.4 on the same pc & see what happens.
Do you know if I need to uninstall 2.3.3 first?
Thanks
Adrian

Hi Adrian
You have stumped me at present – cannot produce the problem here. Shift-r is
your friend. Creating a new track and pressing r will, on my settings, record
at the end of the first track.
I recorded five tracks by pressing shift-r. Apart from sounding like a pub
scene, there were no issues. Did you have any tracks selected? If you have a
track selected and are not at the beginning, recording on the new track will
start from that point. However, that is a shot in the dark.
I had a quick look through Preferences, but have not found anything relevant
yet.
Andrew

Subject: [audacity4blind] Recording problem
Hi all,
Has anyone experienced the problem where after recording track 1 then track 2
without any problems, track 3 has no recording.
I have tried shift+r & also adding track then hitting r.
If I delete 1 of the 1st two tracks then it records again but no more than 2
tracks.
FYI, this is ver 2.3.3
Is there a setting I have missed that only alllows 2 track recording?
Thanks
Adrian
