The whole loopback thing is a mystery to me, as my mixer allows me to record
anything from anywhere. That said, I cannot imagine why silence would not
be recorded. The only possible setting within Audacity I can think of that
would cause silences not to be recorded is if sound activation were turned
on. Can you give more details of the configuration you are using.

Subject: [audacity4blind] Recording blank spaces between songs
What I'm wanting to do is record everything that's coming through the
Internet loopback, including the silence between sounds.
When I record with a microphone it does continue to record even when I'm not
speaking or there's no sound. I just can't get the same result when
recording from a loopback.
Is there a setting in preferences somewhere I'm missing?
