Press Shift+I to choose the correct input device, and shift+O to choose the output device. 2. In the audacity main window, press Ctrl+shift+f6 to the toolbar, then tab aroundd to adjust the input and output level. I usually adjust the input to 20%, and output to 100%. 3. If you still have problem, check to make sure that you' aren't mute your microphone. I'm using windows 7, so cannot give you the correct step for windows xp. I am trying to record from an external device, but when playing back am getting no sound at all. Before when I did this Audacity would record the r for record, then continue recording normally. Could someone please advise how to check and/or change the recording levels using the keyboard? Any help appreciated. Using Jaws 13 and Windows XP. Many thanks.
