Problem is audacity 2.0 wouldn't install on windows XP machine, but, have in meantime updated it to SP3 now, since it was a clean/new install, so might try again - thanks.

And, will check out other info in your message.

| Subject: [audacity4blind] New to list, - and first question
While have been doing some relatively simple things using audacity for a little while now, like cutting pieces out of tracks, applying effects to tracks, occasionally actually using it to mix tracks with each other, using it to record old vinyl records into MP3 output, I only now got around to actually looking into a mailing list relating to specific methods/modes of use of audacity.

Either way, on one windows7 64 bit machine, I have got the newer 2.0.0 version of audacity, but on my windows XP machine, I have stuck to audacity 1.3.4 thus far, and both of them have both jaws 13, and NVDA 2012.2.1 on them, but, I thus far have one sort of question relating to the relative shifting of tracks, in relation to each other, or in terms of the full length of the output/exported track.

This is something haven't thus far been able to figure out by going through parts of the jaws users guide to using audacity - the different versions have come across, etc., so thought might just ask here on list?

Hi Jacob,

1.3.4 is really old and buggy; it would be better if you updated to the
current Audacity 2.0.1 version on both machines:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/windows .

If you are not already doing so, you may subscribe here:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/#announce

to receive an e-mail when we release new versions of Audacity.

Have you read "Time shift one or more tracks" in David's JAWS Guide:
http://vip.chowo.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/jaws/Audacity-2.0-Guide.html ?

If that does not answer your question, please be more specific what
your concern about the output length is.

Also consider this Nyquist plug-in:
