Good point Anthony.
I forgot to mention I did get the add on & that makes all the difference.

Hi James
Out of the box I am not aware of any major differences between JAWS, NVDA and
Narrator with Audacity. That is to say, it is about the most accessible DAW
software under Windows (shame about the Mac). NVDA reads scales in some
effects better than JAWS.
Someone on this list (Garry from memory) writes JAWS scripts for Audacity.
Not having used them, I cannot comment on what functionality they add. I am
personally very happy with the NVDA-Audacity combination. No doubt others will
present alternate viewpoints.

Subject: [audacity4blind] NVDA vs. JAWS with Audacity...
Dear friends,
I have just acquired a new lap top that I want to use as my DAWS machine.
I have also just started using NVDA a bit. My question is whether there is any
significant differences between using Audacity with JAWS vs. NVDA? NVDA is
currently on this machine, but I also have JAWS to put on if it would offer any
real advantages. What do you think between the two different screen readers,
and their usage with Audacity?
Thank you very much for your help!
James
