OK so I try explaining
For example you have a narration track, which an introduction of your
podcast, and you want the music plays at the last sentence, do the folowing
Ctrl+shift+I import the narration and the backround music
Now you have two tracks in the project, use up/down arrow to navigate to you
narration track and press Shift+S to solo it
Press spacebar to play the solo track until the position where you want the
music starts
Press Shift+A to stop, and move cursor to that position
Now make sure the narration track is not selected, and the backround music
is selected
Alt+T to open the track menu
Down Arrow to align sub menu, Open it and choose Start to cursor selection
start
Now press home to move to the start of the project, and spacebar to listen.
Remember to unsolo your narration track by pressing Shift+s again.

Thanks Cuong,

I understand your good reasoning for using multiple tracks now.

I want to insert background music or noise during a selected part of an
audio recording. That is the second part of my previous question.

Hi
For my knowledge, if I want to mix a backround music with a narration usign
GoldWave, I must adjust its volume carefully because I cannot undo after
saving. With multi track editor, I can import all of my tracks and adjust
volume, or anything I like independonly in each track, and if I don't like,
I can change by import the original track again. Not sure I understand the
rest of your question correctly, but you can find the answer by reading the
guide for using Audacity with Jaws and other screen reader from

Hello All,

I'm producing a podcast for the first time, so, I'm using Audacity instead
of my normal audio editor Goldwave. My questions to date are:
Why use multiple tracks? And perhaps related, how can I rap music or a
special effect around a particular section of a recording?

I've been reading your help files, and am trying to learn from them. Thanks
for your commitment.
