Hi Paul
You can move material around by using labels quite simply. You could also use
clips to achieve what you want.
In the case of labels, you would want region rather than point labels. That
is, make a selection of audio and create a label for it. Do that for as many
regions as required. By selecting a region with alt+left/right arrow keys you
can cut or copy that audio to somewhere else. A word of warning. If you
navigate to another region label be sure to press left arrow to clear the
selection if you do not want to overwrite that section.

Thanks for this, what I was doing was, I had put some radio links into a
project, and I had mixed jingles in between them, so of course, I thought,
let’s see if I can separate the links from the jingles, and I thought maybe
labels was the best way to go.

following on from what Andrew has already said, I'm curious as to why you want
to move a label from one label track to another.
Just to clear up a possible misunderstanding, labels are stored in label
tracks, they are not stored in audio tracks.
Although I don't think that there is often a need for this, you can in fact
move a label from one label track to another using the Labels editor. To open
this, open the Edit menu, open the edit labels sub menu, and choose Edit
labels. The editor contains an table, and each row represents a label. The
first cell in each row is the name of the label track which contains the label.
To edit this, first press F2, and you can then choose an option from a combo
box. One of the options is new, which allows you to create a new label track
from within the editor.
