Was the original file an mp3 file and did you export the file you edited
using the same name and to the same folder? If so, try editing and
exporting the file using a different name. You can always change the name
again later.

If you are editing something that is a stereo, joint stereo, or monaural
mp3 file, Mp3 Direct Cut is much easier and more pleasant to edit with.
It isn't a multitrack recorder or editor so you can only use it for
material that is in its final format and it only works with Mp3 files.
but if you have a file you want to edit and your intention is to have the
final result be an Mp3 file, I would recommend that you export it as an
Mp3 file and use Mp3 Direct Cut for editing.
