unfortunately, there's no way to check when you will be getting the update.
Apparently, towards the end of August, about two thirds of Computers
running Windows 10 had been updated.

I'm still using audacity 2.1 so I'm a bit behind on the program at this

Hi Scott,
you say that you wait for the updates to propagate to your machine on
their own, and this is what most people, including microsoft recommend. My
guess is that you will get the original creators update at some time, and
then latter you'll get the fall one. The fall creators update is due to
start rolling out mid October, but it seems to take several months until
the roll out is complete. If your computer does skip an update, there
probably won't be any problems. But with Microsoft, you never can be sure.

This is an update on the problem of Audacity crashing which using Jaws on
the Windows 10 creators update.
The good news is that Jaws 2018, which is now in public beta doesn't cause
Audacity to crash. Jaws 2018 beta can be downloaded from this page:

In addition, when the Windows 10 fall creators update is released in
October, it looks like any version of Jaws will be able to be used without
causing Audacity to crash.
Also, as mentioned in previous posts, the Audacity nightly build does not
crash when using Jaws, although you need to look out for a number of
changes. The nightly builds are available from:
