hi, I’ve not tried out audacity with win10 but the instructions as if you were
using win7 are as follows:
1. press enter on the track with the piano.
2. ensure that only the piano track is selected and no other track says
selected.
3. use your home key to ensure that you are at the start of the piano track
(you’ll be at the start of the project)
4. use shift + end to select the piano track’s information.
5. press alt+c
6. use your down arrow and hit enter when you get to amplify.
7. what ever number you see in this diologue edit box decrease it. so if you
see 5 decrease it to 2 or 1 or –3. this works with negative numbers as well. so
if you see –4 in this box you can ferther decrease it to –8 or –11.
8. press enter on ok when you are satisfied with your results.
9. wait a few seconds for the effect to apply itself to the piano track, then
press space bar to see if it’s what you wanted. (this starts playback)
I’m not sure if this would work in win10 it should though.

Subject: [audacity4blind] Intro and a Question about Track volume Levels
Hi there.
I am so glad I was able to find this list! I did not know it existed but could
sure use some help right now. My name is Alyssa. I live in Georgia with a crazy
little pack of Miniature Pinschers.
I’m semi-new to Audacity. I keep coming across a problem that is really
bothering me. I am trying to record a file to add to a video project I am
working on. On their own, the vocals sound great. On its own, the music sounds
great. When combined, both seem to become a little fuzzy. I am thinking
lowering the volume of the piano track might be best since I’ve already done
that with vocals by re-recording and have had no success in correcting the
problem. However, I cannot figure out how to do this with the keyboard.
Everything I find discusses using the envelope tool, but unless I am missing
something, I cannot find any keyboard commands for it other than how to get to
it. Then I’m just stuck as it doesn’t show me anything different. Of note is I
am using JAWS 18 and Windows 10.
