Hi!
I sing. Basically, I'd like to either record myself singing acapella, or
somehow record myself singing to a karaoke track. I realize that in this
case, the two tracks will probably have to be mixed together.

Hi Allison,
Welcome to the list. It's been very quiet for several weeks if not the past couple months.
My name's David, I'm one of the two moderators. The other guy Scott has been busy with personal stuff, I'm not sure when he'll be back.
What do you plan or want to do with Audacity? You mentioned a major in music - do you play an instrument?
I play electronic keyboards but my specialty with Audacity is writing plug-ins to generate new sounds and process sound loaded into Audacity (sound effects).
Cheers

Hi all!
I'm very glad to have found this list. As a blind music major, I look forward to finding out all of the features that audacity has to offer.
