Hi Adrian

The good news is that there are not fundamental differences between using
Audacity with NVDA and JAWS.  There are JAWS scripts which automate some
tasks and others here can shed more light on their benefits.  But
essentially all Audacity features are equally available through both screen
readers.

I did an audio intro to Audacity a while ago and you may like to check it
out <https://www.sendspace.com/pro/dl/v56cn4> .  It deals with some of the
navigation issues that people new to Audacity find challenging.

Yes, the manual is very good.  It makes more sense once you are a little
more familiar with the software.

You mentioned Reaper.  I can tell you with some confidence that the learning
curve for Reaper is considerably greater than for Audacity due to its many
features and its sometimes complicated approach.

I am new in this place, and I wish to introduce myself.

I am Adrian Tamasan, the guy behind the Accessible Computer podcast. I am
using audio editing software successfully under Mac, but I am trying to
learn more about

Audacity in this case, but Reaper as well.

Probably I will ask some time just very basic questions, but I am in the
situation to not figure out how to make various simple tasks under Audacity.

I know, it is a good manual reference there, but the way how the information
is dispersed  make some time unusable that material.

It's takes commands after commands, but when is about editing a file, let's
say, you have to jump here and there, to try to search for bits of info from
selection  chapter, then jumping to marking, and then to navigation, etc.

I have recently discovered a number of audio demonstrations with NVDA which
hope to help me to understand better in practical situations what, when and
how to do, but I am afraid are some differences when is about working with
Jaws.

I will come later with real working senarios   questions for the
experienced users here.
