A further apology (holds head in hands which makes writing difficult).  Third
time lucky:

Apologies.  The link for Audacity labels was wrong.  Better luck this time.

Hi Ravi and all

I have done two more audio tutorials.  One is:

Setting levels <https://www.sendspace.com/pro/dl/c675ys

The other one, which needs updating, is:

Labels in Audacity <https://www.sendspace.com/pro/dl/08uqin

I am a bit busy over the next couple of weeks but now that 2.41 is out I hope
to do one on using a variety of Audacity features for editing.

Hi Ravi,

it's Andrew who made the audio tutorial, and he will be able to let you know
about the others that he's done,

David.

Hi Osmond,

a more recent version of the guide which Andrew referred to is available here:

Hi Osmond and welcome to Audacity.  Once you have an understanding of how it
works, it should very much suit your podcasting purposes.  It can be used in
anything from a very simple manner to quite sophisticated audio production.
To get started, check out David Bailes' Guide at:
http://vip.chowo.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/jaws/Audacity-2.3.0-Guide.html.  It ;
is written specifically for screen reader users.
While the manual that comes with Audacity is a bit more complicated, it also
contains lots of good information.
If you prefer an audio presentation, I did a 15 minute introduction a few years
ago, which could now do with updating.  It is at:

And when things do not work quite as expected, drop an email here and people
will be very willing to help.

Subject: [audacity4blind] Help with using Audacity

Dear All, hope everyone is doing well. My name is Osmond and I just heard of
Audacity. I am thinking of starting a simple podcast to share about my
experiences being blind.

I am very average when it comes to using technology. I downloaded Audacity and
see it is very user friendly with JAWS. However I am not sure how it works.

When I have the steps to do something, I am usually good at following
instructions. What is the process to record audio? And after making the
recording what do I need to do after that?

I just had my birthday last Friday and a friend of mine asked if I ever thought
of doing podcasts and I had not thought about it before and just now looking
into getting started.

Does anyone on here do podcasts? How difficult is the process? Thanks for
reading and for your help.

Sincerely,

Osmond
