Hi Edis
Editing on the Mac is pretty much the same as on Windows. You can select audio
in several ways, but I will not complicate the issue here. The left and right
bracket keys ([ and ]) are your friends. Ifyou press left bracket when
playing, that will put the cursor at that point and playing will continue.
When you press the right bracket, that will set the end of the highlight. When
you stop and playback, only the selected portion will be played. Pressing
delete will remove it. If you press left bracket when not playing, you will be
presented with a dialog that allows you to set the beginning of the selection.
That is quite fiddly on the Mac. There are also a number of formats that the
display can be set to. With the dialog open you can adjust the display with
the Applications key, but I have forgotten the key on the Mac. Similarly,
pressing right bracket when not playing allows you to set the end point of the
selection.
Pressing shift-f5 plays up to the start of the selection; shift F6 after the
start; shift F7 to the end of selection; shift F8 after the selection.
The other issue which you may or may not be aware of is that the latest version
of Audacity (and several before) are not great with VoiceOver. There is a
version which others can point you to which works best with VoiceOver.

Subject: [audacity4blind] Help with Audacity on macbook pro
Hello everyone,
I am new to this mailing list.
Likewise, I am also new to using Audacity on a macbook.
Previously, I have used the software on a windows platform, but that has been a
while ago.
I only need Audacity for simple tasks.
Mainly, what I want to do, but can’t figure out if my life depended on it, is
how I select some audio which I can remove then.
Basically, I have some recordings of some concerts, and I want to edit it so
that some of it is removed and the over all file is made shorter.
How do I do that?
This is on a MacBook Pro.
Thank you everyone for your time and help.
Sincerely,
Edis
