Then you are saying that there is no microphone jack? In that case, I don't
know if there is any way to switch the headphone jack so that it serves as a
microphone jack.

Gene, issue is this lenovo doesn't offer any form of separate microphone, or
line-in socket - only a single 3.5mm audio socket where I generally have just
speakers plugged in, and, AFAIK, it can use dual jack headphones, etc., or
something, but, am not sure if the hardware would then just replace the
internal microphone's input with that one, or not, so that's all was saying.

You are introducing a new microphone into the circuit, not changing the source.

Sameer, my lenovo only seems to have a single input socket for something
like a dual microphone/headphone, so, honestly, I think that with this
hardware, we might need to use something like an additional USB audio
adapter, but, haven't really tried it much - this is my primary machine,
but, I generally use my older, spare acer laptop, which has a proper
stereo line-ine socket for recording with audacity.
