Yes indeed. These 2 3.5 MM jacks had me confused. didn't realise
that the 1 was for digital audio out.

On my win10 machine, in the start menu search box, I look for sound

settings, select a microphone on the recording page, tab over to
properties button, and then move to levels page of new dialogue that
then comes up, and, there are levels, and a mute checkbox, etc.

etc., chances are then that MS sound mapper device will map to
