Hi Loek!
Rich is right. Whether a track is muted does not effect any editing. If you
could describe in detail what you're doing, we can possibly find out what the
problem is.
If you set the right selection marker and then press shift-A as I understand
you to do from your last mail, you're setting the cursor at that same
position, thereby selecting nothing. You should set the left marker, then the
right, or press shift-A where you want the selection to start and then pres
shift-cursor-right to make a selection. Listen to the selected passage by
pressing the space bar.
You can also press c to hear what the cut would sound like. If nothing happens
when you press c, nothing is selected.
Cheers! Robbie

Hello, Rich,
Thanks for youw reply. I've done what you say, but it doesnot give the wished
result. After pressing right square brackets I have another time pressed
shift-a. Alas, without wished result.
Kind regards,
Loek Meijer.

Muting the other track has no effect on whether or not you can edit the
unmuted track. Make sure the unmuted track says "selected" when you focus on
it. If not, press the Enter key on it to toggle to "selected". Mark off the
section that you want to delete with left and right square brackets and press
the delete key. You can press the letter c before deleting to hear how it
sounds without the marked off section being played.

Hello, David Bailes (or another expert),
Before mixing two audio files you can edit each one; I know. Is it
right that it is not possible to edit one of two tracks on the screen
after muting the other track? I have tried to cut a clip from the
track that had not been muted; without result.
I wonder what you'll answer.
Kind regards,
Loek Meijer.
