For me, I do the folowing to ut out the part aI want
Make sure I selected the track I want to cut out something
Press left bracket where I want to start selection
Press right brackket where I want to end selection
Optional press z to do a find zero crossing
Press delete to delete it

Hi all.
When I try to take out the first part of the recording, I do the following:
1. [ where the start of what I want to delete is
2. ] where the end of what I want to delete is.
3. Shift and J, then press delete.
This doesn't always seem to work. Should the track be selected or
deselected? Might it take longer because the track is quite long? Even when I
try editing in the middle of the track something is going wrong.
I'm using the latest version of audacity.
Appreciate any help.
