Hi, Justin. Thank you for clarifying. A friend had given me hurried
instructions which I wrote on my Braille Lite. Then it needed a charge but
wouldn’t take one, so I had to send it in for repair without having the chance
to back up what I had written.
For anyone’s information, if you are using JAWS 14 and wonder what happened to
the Windows C that would append to the clipboard for more efficient copying and
pasting of the Audacity manual into your own Word file, a Windows 8 key
conflicted, so now JAWS uses Insert Windows C to append to the clipboard.

Linda,
In the latest version of audacity control shift e is the key command to export
the entire file.
If you only wish to export the selected audio, you must press alt then arrow
down through the file menu till you come to the option that reads export
selection.

You're welcome.
Here's what I've discovered.
If I pause and press right bracket followed by space, then use control f6 to
display the selection length, pressing z, will adjust my selection length to
the nearest 0 crossing.
I repeated this experiment three times, and each time audacity only changed
my selection length by one millisecond.
Are you having trouble with unwanted clicks?

Curtis,
I'll answer your question first, because it's the easier of the two.
Audacity has a dc offset function built in to the normalize effect.
When you select the normalize effect you will find a check box that reads
"remove dc offset (center on 0.0 vertically).
It is checked by default.
Now, Linda's question about procedure is going to require some research on
my part.
I've never had to use the "find 0 crossings feature".
Linda, let me investigate this a little further, and I'll get back to you.
