Curtis,
I'll answer your question first, because it's the easier of the two.
Audacity has a dc offset function built in to the normalize effect.
When you select the normalize effect you will find a check box that
reads "remove dc offset (center on 0.0 vertically).
It is checked by default.
Now, Linda's question about procedure is going to require some
research on my part.
I've never had to use the "find 0 crossings feature".
Linda, let me investigate this a little further, and I'll get back to
you.
