Hi Gale,

I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you on this. Thanks for the
instructions. So far, I have downloaded and installed the CDex program and
have converted the files on the CD to a .wav file. I don't know what the
next step is. Where do I find the .wav file it converted so I can import it
to Audacity? I hope you can help because the F1 key doesn't work. Thanks.

Diane

Please update to the current Audacity 2.0.1:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/windows .

To rip the CD, try using CDex:
http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/ .

CDex has a shortcut F10 to "Extract a section of the CD". If you choose the
entire length of the CD then CDex will rip it to one file.

CDex will actually rip to MP3 but you may have to set the encoder
to "LAME" first (F4 to open Settings).

If you want to edit the file in Audacity you should rip to WAV, not MP3.

To add MP3 encoding to Audacity, please read this:
http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#lame
.
