Hi David

Thanks for the link. Do I report issues here or can you give me the appropriate address? I will mention them here anyway to see if other can reproduce the bug I have found.

My first issue reflects my pedantry. There are quite a few menu items where the text is:

On/off checked.

For example:

Overdub (on/off) checked.

I suggest simply:

Overdub on with or without the check.

The next one is a minor crash when setting timer recording. I have checked on two machines, both running Windows 10 Creators and both with NVDA 2017.3. The problem only occurs on one machine! If I arrow down past 0 hours I get the following error message:

..\..\src\msw\datetimectrl.cpp(95): assert "Assert failure" failed in
wxDateTimePickerCtrl::SetValue(): Setting the calendar date
unexpectedly failed.
Call stack:
[00] ThemeBase::RotateImageInto
[01] ThemeBase::RotateImageInto
[02] wxAppConsoleBase::HandleEvent
[03] wxAppConsoleBase::CallEventHandler
[04] wxEvtHandler::ProcessEventIfMatchesId
[05] wxEventHashTable::HandleEvent
[06] wxEvtHandler::TryHereOnly
[07] wxEvtHandler::ProcessEvent

[09] wxEvtHandler::ProcessEvent
[10] BackedPanel::GetEventHashTable
[11] BackedPanel::GetEventHashTable

[13] wxAppConsoleBase::CallEventHandler

[17] wxEvtHandler::ProcessEvent
[18] wxEvtHandler::SafelyProcessEvent
[19] wxWindow::MSWHandleMessage
[20] wxWindow::MSWWindowProc
Do you want to stop the program?
You can also choose [Cancel] to suppress further warnings.

Yes No Cancel

For those of you who are interested in testing a beta version of Audacity 2.2.0, this is a link to the portable version of the beta:

If you want this version of Audacity to use its own separate settings, then after you have extracted the files, in the folder that contains Audacity.exe create a folder with the name Portable Settings.
