Sarah,
If your intro music is a track by itself, duplicate it and then you can use it
as Outro music as well. The Outro should be a separate track but it can be the
same music.

Firstly to audoducking, but read the remainder before doing it. You are
nearly there.
Your music track needs to be above your vocal track.
Make sure the vocal track is not selected (pressing Enter toggles selection).
Make sure the music track is selected.
Select the audio on the track by pressing j and then shift+k.
Apply the autoduck. Note that if you do not like the amount of ducking you
can adjust that in the autoduck dialog.
Now to moving your vocal so that it starts 15 seconds after the music starts
(do that before applying autodocking or you will be forced to utter
unpleasantries).
The most elegant solution is to use the Align Tracks facility.
Deselect the vocal track and select the music track
Having arrowed up to the music track, move to the point where you want the
vocals to come in.
Deselect the music track.
Arrow down to the vocal track and select it.
Press alt+t to open the Tracks Menu.
Arrow down to Align Tracks and press Enter.
Arrow down to Start to Cursor/Selection and press Enter.
Your vocals will then start at that point.
Another option is to select the vocal track and press j to go to the
beginning and then insert 15 seconds of silence. To do that open the
Generate Menu with alt+g and press s. You can set the amount of silence in
that dialog. Then press left arrow to clear the selection to avoid hearing
nothing but silence.
Finally, to set up the music for the conclusion. I will assume you have the
music on an external file but vary the following suggestions as relevant.
Import the music from the File Menu. It will be placed on a new track. If
you want to autoduck the music, you will have to copy or move it to track 1.
Select the contents and copy with control+c. Deselect that track and arrow
to track 1. Move to where you want the music to start and paste with
control+v. Then apply autoduck.
If you want to gradually fade up the music you could keep it on the new
track. Then use Align Tracks as described above to have it start where you
want it.
I suggest you practise before applying to the real project. What becomes
second nature can initially seem complicated.

Yes me again!!
So I’m still struggling to get my head around getting auto duck to work even
though I know it should be simple!!
As you may recall I’ve started a podcast and have some music I use for intro
/ outro. I have the vocal track as track 1 and the intro music as track 2, I
select autoduck and it says something along the lines of “need to select
control track”. I’ve tried switching things round i.e. music as track 1 and
vocals as track 2 but get the same response – what am I doing wrong?
Also presuming I can get the above to work how do I insert some silence into
the vocal track so that part of the music plans before the vocal track comes
in i.e. say it’s a 30 second intro and I want the vocals to come in 15
seconds into the intro music and vice versa at the end.
