Hi Robert!Well, Audacity is actually more suited for precise editing - sample
I may say that I have switched totally from Audacity to Reaper mainly
because the accessibility issues we have faced especially on the Mac
version.
Audacity on the Mac can be used, but I would much prefer Reaper when I want
to edit something very precise.
However there are some things I still like about Audacity:It doesn't work for me, I would expect the item to be 0 dBFS after
the truncate silence feature which just is fantastic and the ducker effect,
just to mention a few things.
What's wrong about Reaper and normalising, just curious.
Best regards Thomas

Well, I use them in tandem.
Audacity is my first external editor for Reaper.
For instance, Reaper sucks on normalizing recordings so I open it with
Audacity and save it back.
Using Osara, the accessibility is better in reaper, for instance the
peak watcher tells you when a certain input level is reached.
The advantages of Audacity are the macros, the Nyquist language, the
auto save facility and label/clips (well, let's say different, not
better).
Want to know any specifics?
Robert

Good day guys,
Is there any particular reason why you would recommend one app over the
other?
Should I understand that Reaper is oriented more towards Pro-musician
users than Audacity?
Thanks,
Pawel
