John,

So you are saying that you do not get this crash error with NVDA or
Narrator? Then it certainly does sound like a Jaws issue.

Well I guess the time has come where I now need to get NVDA down pat.

Hi John,

If you are using JAWS, then this problem shows up with the Win 10 Creators
Edition. Uninstalling and reinstalling will not fix the problem. You will
probably find that other functions such as opening certain types of files
will cause a crash as will the use of Control+X or Control+W. Freedom
scientific understands that this problem is a JAWS problem, and they told me
they are working on this as a priority issue. I encourage anyone with this
problem to contact JAWS tech support and remind them that we are still
waiting. While we wait, we can use NVDA, which works just fine with
Audacity. Narrator also works.

John

Hi everyone,

Well I installed Audacity for Windows 10 and the installation went well at
that. But I didn't do anything in the program at all. So I went to the
"file" menu and hit exit. Then I got a message   saying that Audacity has
stopped working and Windows will look to see if it sees a fix for the
problem - or something like that.This has happened several times now. Do I
need to uninstall Audacity and re-install it in order to fix the problem?

Thanks,

John
