"Studio Fade Out" is designed for fading out music. The difference between this and the standard Fade Out effect is quite subtle, but when applied to music you may find that it gives a more pleasing and less mechanical effect. The main difference is that the standard fade out effect reduces the amplitude at a constant rate from the original volume to silence whereas the Studio Fade Out begins the fade out gradually from the initial level, then more rapidly, then more gradually to silence. To put it another way, the standard fade out is linear, whereas the Studio fade out is a smooth curve from the original level to silence. Studio Fade Out also reduces the treble a little toward the end of the fade so that there is less tendency for the sound to become "thin" as it gets quieter. The Adjustable Fade effect is a versatile tool that allows you to fade from one level to another, whereas the normal fade out effect always fades from the original level to silence. It also has options for adjusting the rate of change. If you want a fade out that starts gradually and then more rapidly, then in effect you want the middle of the fade to be a bit higher than would be with the standard fade. That can be achieved by increasing the level of the middle of the fade with the "Mid Fade Adjust" control. If you want to apply a standard fade in or fade out, it is easiest to just use the standard fade in/out effects, but if you want a different sort of fade, then the Adjustable Fade will probably be able to do it. If you have trouble finding the right settings to use, you could try describing what sort of fade effect you want and I'll suggest some settings that you can try.
