Hi Adrian,
If you select a number of tracks, and execute the start to zero command,
then the following happens. The earliest time that any audio data starts in
all the selected tracks is found, and then the audio in all the tracks is
moved earlier by that time. So the audio in at least one of the tracks will
start at time zero, and the timing between the tracks remains unchanged.
If you want the audio in all the selected tracks to start at zero, then:
1. On the align tracks sub menu, choose align together. The audio in the
tracks will now start at the same time, and this time is the average start
time of the audio in the tracks.
2. On the align tracks sub menu, choose start to zero.
David.

Hi,
Thank you all for your answers.
Yep, if I take tracks after split one by one to align them to 0 works
fine.
I have selected them all, when I applied start from 0, and doesn’t work
in this way.

Hi Ted,
it's even easier. With only that track selected, on the tracks menu, on
the align tracks sub menu, choose start to zero.

This is probably the more correct way to approach this. So long as your
left cursor is at 0:00:00.000, then you can align to cursor. Like was
suggested.

It's actually not silence but rather white space that is inserted.
This means that the new track doesn't start at time zero but rather at
the left selection boundary.
In other words, you can move the audio by using the align submenu in
the tracks menu.

Yes, use truncate.

Select all tracks.
2. Alt+C, T to find Truncate.
3. In the 3rd field, type the amount of blank space you actually want
(0.5 is half a second).
4. Tab to and select Truncate tracks separately.
5. Click Ok.

Subject: [audacity4blind] Arrange tracks after split new
Hi,
I have noticed when split new function is used, on the new tracks a silence
time is inserted before the track according with the position where that
selection was on the original track.
`it is any way to make the new split tracks to start from point 0 once they
are sepparated in different tracks?
Thanks,
Adrian Tamasan
