This is probably the more correct way to approach this. So long as your left
cursor is at 0:00:00.000, then you can align to cursor. Like was suggested.

2. Alt+C, T to find Truncate.
3. In the 3rd field, type the amount of blank space you actually want
(0.5 is half a second).
4. Tab to and select Truncate tracks separately.
