I fixed the setting the way you suggested, and that appears to have

that check box is not checked, then check it.

I've discovered a bug in Audacity 2.1.2.
I'm using Windows 8.1 with Jaws 17.
Every time I insert silence into a recording with Alt+g s, I can't paste
anything more into the project. If I try, i get an error message to the
effect that there isn't enough room to do the paste. If I delete the
silence, I don't get that error message when attempting to paste.
