Steve, haven't done much in terms of changing macro's recently, but, if you bring up tools menu, macros, select that one in list, tab over to the apply to files button, and activate it, it then asks you to select files, and runs them through, placing output in a sub-folder called macro_output from their original location - just tested it on 3 .ogg files, and the resulting .mp3 files seemed fine.

The "MP3 Conversion" macro is definitely the best way to do it with Audacity, but I don't know how accessible it is.

Like said, that one that's already there, mp3 conversion might
already do just what you want though?

Say that since, think one of it's steps includes normalisation.

On that note, if you haven't already checked it out, here's the
screenreader user guide for lots of audacity functionality:

    https://vip.chowo.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/jaws/Audacity-2.4.0-Guide.html

But, don't think it includes anything relating to macro
    defining/usage, etc.

This is the normal audacity manual section on macro's:

    https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/macros.html

Okay, I found it and I looked at the one for converting mp3s.  It
has been a lifetime ago since I've written any kind of code but I
was once pretty good at it.  Is there any kind of resource where
I could learn the language and syntax?

    The tools menu?

As in, alt + O, arrow down to macro's and hit enter, but, you'll
need to play around with that part of the interface a bit to get
used to how it works allowing you to insert steps into macro's,
    etc. - they're basically steps/sets of pre-defined tasks to
carry out on either a track, a selected audio portion, or files,
    etc.

WXMP3Gain just handles MP3's, but, just realised that under
audacity, toosl menu, macros, the mp3 conversion macro might
do what you want - imports a group of files, normalises them
all and outputs them to a sub-folder, and, if you needed to,
you could insert an amplification step into the process as well?

Justin, not really related to audacity - there might be
another way, using the software, but, for this type of
thing, I use the wx version of MP3Gain since it's interface
    is accessible/usable with a screenreader:

    https://sourceforge.net/projects/wxmp3gain/
    <https://sourceforge.net/projects/wxmp3gain/>
    <https://sourceforge.net/projects/wxmp3gain/>

That allows you to choose a sort of normalised volume level,
after selecting multiple files, and just processes them in
    place.

Is there a way to normalize a group of songs all at once?
It would be a real time saver if I didn't have to do them
    individually.
