This post is mainly addressed to Ted Galanos, and these are just my
personal views.
The list is primarily for people to exchange information and advice about
Audacity, without any payment for this.
I don't think that it is helpful if new members of the list are immediately
targeted with adverts for commercial services. They join the list in the
expectation of free advice, not having to pay for it.
I don't see a problem with commercial services being mentioned
occasionally where they are directly relevant to the topic being discussed.
But I think this should only happen occasionally. I don't think the list
should be treated as a space for free advertising.
