Hi DianeYou can move the cursor to the place where you want to add the track by the folowing ways: 1. From the selection start, enter the time where the cursor located. For example. I want to add the new track at 00:02:30, then I press Ctrl+ F6 from track panel to swich to the selection bar then enter the time. 2. Play the audio until the time you want to add a track, then press shift+a to stop and move cursor to that.
The first method mhight be good for long audio. HTH Cuong Dang----- Original Message ----- From: "Diane Scalzi" <dscalzi@xxxxxxxxxxx>

I tried followingthem, but its still not working. You are right; I am trying to add a recorded track in the middle of a recorded track. Perhaps I need to know how to select the audio in the track I want to add. Then I need to know how to move the cursor to the place where I want to add the track. Sorry for being so dense. However if the track is already recorded, then there are a couple of ways of doing what you want. The first is to 1. select the audio in the track which you want to add. Select the track, then press j followed by shift + k. 2. Press ctrl+c to copy the audio. 2. delete that track, by pressing shift+c. 3. select the track into which you want to insert the audio. 4. Move the cursor to where you want to insert the audio, and then press ctrl+v to paste. The second method, aligns audio in tracks. Assuming you have two tracks, and you want the second to play in the middle of the first. 1. Select the first track. 2. Move the cursor to where you want the second track to start. 3. press shift + k, to select a time range from the cursor to the end of the audio in the track. 3. On the edit menu, open the clip boundaries sub menu, and choose split new. The selected audio is moved to its own track, which will be the last track in the project, which in this case is the third track. (this track is selected). 4. Press ctrl+shift+a to deselect all the tracks. You can then move the second track so that it starts at the end of the first track, and the third track so that it starts at the end of the second track. You can do this in the usual manner by pressing k to move the cursor to the end of the selected track, and on the tracks menu, in the align tracks sub menu, the align with cursor command, which move the audio in the selected track so that it starts at the cursor.
