A bunch of people used to use (still use maybe?) soft gun cases with the
Typematrix keyboards. I got one, but I found that it took up to much
space. It looks like the stethoscope would be even more inefficient than
a gun case.
Many USB cables are rather thin, including the one that Phil provided.
I have switched it for a very thick one, and I will be impressed if
I manage to break it. So that's another approach, and it takes up far
less space than a case.
But this discussion reminds me of the case that I really want: I want
the keyboard to be attached very robustly to a shoulder strap from the
left and the right sides of the keyboard. And I want one of the sides to
be easily detached. Then I will run the cable along the shoulder strap
such that it ends where I can detach the cable. This way, I carry the
keyboard around my shoulder and the cable does not get tangled.
One might accomplish this simply by attaching two metal loops to holes
through the keyboard (either two corner screw hols or two new holes)
and then attaching an ordinary shoulder strap with a clip. I could be
very easy, but I have not been in the mood to model the strength of such
an assembly nor to implement it without prior testing. So I have not
tried it yet.
