I *really* want an e-ink writing device. I tried to root my Kindle 4 to run
an SSH client and take keyboard input via USB OTG. It almost worked, except
their UI uses a virtual keyboard rather than real key events.
Getting a tablet-sized screen for tinkering purposes seems near impossible
though, else I'd have made this long ago.
Other than that I'm happy to see QMK as the default.
I switched to it a while ago, and it's been good.
Except my layout has some modifiers on a layer that sometimes gets stuck.
I think what happens is you press the modifier, exit the layer, and it's
never released.
So I have to rethink that setup.

You can detach the screen section from the keyboard without too much
trouble, but removing the device from inside the screen section is more
work and not something you're intended to do often. Think of it more as a
laptop/netbook that just happens to use a mobile device rather than a
"dock" per se.
