Does TMK/QMK builds still have the bug which keeps the modifies (GUI, Ctrl
etc) stuck when releasing the function key first, and modifier second?

Cool; I can tell you've put a lot of work into this. If you decide to
make it work with TMK at some point feel free to submit a pull request
and we can include it in the main repo. I would like to include more
choices and examples of customization there.
