I haven't gotten a chance to test this on Macs yet, but I noticed that
TMK actually has two different pairs of keycodes for volume control
documented in the doc/keycode.txt file.
KC__VOLUP and KC__VOLDOWN
vs
KC_AUDIO_VOL_UP and KC_AUDIO_VOL_DOWN
It may be that you need to use the second set of volume keycodes in
order to get it to register on a Mac. Give that a try and see if it
solves it.
