That's correct; you should be able to use the reset key rather than the
pin. What you're seeing is quite strange; did you use the precompiled
firmware from
https://atreus.technomancy.us/download? You could try
compiling your own from the TMK codebase. Can you give me a checksum of
the file you're using (with sha1sum)?
