Good question!
The main thing here is that it doesn't have a hinge. If you think about
it, even on conventional factory-made laptops the hinge is almost always
the first thing to break. So instead it has a fixed-angle screen, though
you get to pick what that angle is when you install the screen
bracket. And because it's a fixed angle it's a lot more sturdy than it
would be otherwise.
I've been using my deck for a couple months, and it's taken some trial
and error, but I've found it to travel pretty well. The key is that
while the fixed screen angle makes it difficult to pack in a laptop bag,
keeping it slung around your shoulder is actually a much better way to
take it around with you. (Plus it's pretty eye-catching!) I've taken it
on several motorcycle rides and a couple bicycle rides. I even took it
on a flight last week. On the way down I put it in my carry-on bag and
packed clothes around it, but on the return flight I just kept wearing it
as I went around the airport, which worked better.

But most of the time I sit down with it, either at a table or on the
couch. The angle is pretty good in those cases. If I'm lying down on the
couch with it instead of sitting, I'll prop up a knee at 45 degrees and
that gets me a good angle.
