The School of Systems and Enterprises (SSE) at Stevens Institute of
Technology invites applications for three full-time tenure track faculty
positions starting August 2018 or on a mutually agreed upon date.
Applications will be considered at the ranks of Assistant or Associate
Professor. Successful candidates will contribute to a growing research and
educational program at the intersection of engineering, management, and
systems science.

SSE is dedicated to designing sustainable solutions for some of the most
complex socio-technical challenges of the 21st Century. Candidates must
have a strong research record, including publications in highly-ranked
peer-reviewed journals and conferences. Specific topic areas of interest
include:

●       *Humans and Design*
<https://stevens.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/en-US/External/job/Hoboken-NJ---Main-Campus/Associate-Professor_RQ20878-1>:
Conduct rigorous experimental research in technological environments to
study human factors associated with the design and operation of systems and
software throughout the lifecycle including human systems integration,
cognition, perception, communication, and teamwork. This topic values
experience in designing, implementing, and executing interactive
simulations and games as behavioral experiments to generate and test
hypotheses or facilitate design synthesis activities.

●       *Behavioral System Analytics*
<https://stevens.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/en-US/External/job/Hoboken-NJ---Main-Campus/Associate-Professor_RQ20877>:
Gather, process, and analyze large data sets to understand and infer
behavior for real-world systems. This topic values strong computational
skills to develop predictive analytics for engineering process
decision-making or explanatory hypotheses grounded in behavioral economics
or other social sciences to inform design and operation of complex systems.

●       *Model-centric Design*
<https://stevens.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/en-US/External/job/Hoboken-NJ---Main-Campus/Associate-Professor_RQ20879-1>:
Understand, develop, and implement digital design processes for systems and
software engineering projects based on automated methods or tools
leveraging computational resources to surpass fundamental human limitations
on memory, processing, or communication. This topic values experience in
systems modeling and simulation including topics such as model
interoperability, knowledge representation, and design search strategies.

*Job Duties*

Faculty duties include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels,
advising and mentoring graduate students, conducting externally-funded
research, as well as contributing to service to Stevens and to the
professional community. Strong communication skills are required.
Candidates will be expected to become leaders in their field of research,
to develop a vibrant externally-funded research program, and to contribute
to best-in-class educational programs within SSE that cater to the needs of
industry and government.

*Basic Qualifications*

Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in a systems-oriented engineering or
science discipline before the start of employment.

Applicants should submit a curriculum vita, research statement, teaching
statement, copies of one to three publications, and contact information for
three references via the online submission system. We will only contact
your references if you are short-listed for the position and will seek your
permission before doing so. For full consideration, please enter this
information electronically through the submission system by the indicated
dates.

Please apply to *one* of the following postings for joint consideration
among all positions:

·        Humans and Design:                       bit.ly/2xEfFik

·        Behavioral System Analytics:        bit.ly/2xD0OEV

·        Model-centric Design:                    bit.ly/2g8TENl
