Go ahead that's the way to work,  If you have the backup you can delete the 
archive logs.

it is in archive mode and archive files are send to
/home/arc folder.now the problem is day by day folder
size is getting increased as log file numbers is
increasing .my doubt is after taking back up using
rman,or using exp/imp can i delete archive log files
physically so as to keep arc folder size in limits.
is it affect the database working.
