Anish,There is a slight change in my schedule.I will be able to come to
Amravati on 25,26,27. .. (not 24,25,26 as decided earlier)I assume we will get
one session of 1 1/2 hr with each teacher group during this.
After going thru Balbharati text book .. there is a light chapter in each std
where they cover shadows and reflection on a plane surface.I suggest the
following structure:Start with fun with shadows .. explanation of why shadows
and shadow formed with point and extended source. [ std 7 text book has
explanation of eclipes using the extended source model, I do not know if we
will have time for that but let us see if we can set up a demo model as part
of tinkering lab ]Also it will be nice to include some ideas about sun
dial.Making a pin hole camera Discussion on what is image how to construct
ray diagramReflection of light : laws of reflection (plane mirror only ..
enthusiastic teachers can do expt with curved mirrors during tinkering
time)Making periscope.Demonstration of multiple images with more than one
mirror (and making Kaliedoscope if time permits)
Is this ok?
If this is ok with all, I will prepare a list of material required.I assume
Pitara people will bring the recently published Prakash Module. It might be a
good idea to use some of the diagrams from the book (we can have it projected
if possible) giving a zerox copy of the page to each group.
Do let me know your opinion.
Thanks,
