Dear Anish, You are right. We should immediately hand over all BV chapters
translated earlier (even by others) that are required for the Nashik training,
converted to Unicode to Swati and Suhas.They should vet/edit - as required.
Now that Tultul has shared the method, Nitika can take care of conversion to
Unicode.

The previous translation - immediately, at least the ones to be used in Nashik,
need to be checked and made legible, apart from the font issues. We need to
achieve a consistent style too.
I feel that there is scope for improvement in this particular translation
(Looking at the skies). At some places, the language tends to be complicated
for a middle-school child reader. Some good editing is needed.
Should we ask Jyotsna prakashan people for editing help? Or someone else who
might be willing to give a commitment?

My view is that if we are going to use Unicode fonts in the long run, we must
convert all text into that, then do editing, proofing and lay-out etc.

There is no robust way to recover the file -- it will have to be
converted at source.
Unless we absolutely insist on Unicode, we will be wasting a lot of

there is no difference in the way you key-in the letters between
Unicode and non-Unicode, so it is (mostly) a question of using the
right font encoding in the document, not a question of changing
keyboard layout or script/language interface.
